What does a Writer and Singer do?
Musicians and singers play instruments or sing in recording studios and for live audiences. They have the ability to perform in a variety of styles like rock, classical, jazz, country, opera, or hip-hop.

How to Become a Writer and Singer
With the exception of musicians and singers interested in performing popular music, where no postsecondary education is required, many performers of classical music and opera have at least a bachelor's degree in music theory or performance.
In order for a candidate to be accepted into one of these programs, one is usually required to submit a recording, audition in person, or both. Undergraduate music programs teach music history and styles and teach methods for improving their vocal and instrumental techniques and musical expression. The undergraduate voice programs teach courses in diction that helps the student perform in foreign languages.
Musicians and singers may choose to further their education by obtaining a master's degree in music or fine arts. Both musicians and singers, require extensive training and practice to achieve the knowledge and skills necessary to interpret music at a professional level. Most musicians and singers begin training at a young age.

Musicians and singers perform a variety of music for recordings and live audiences. They audition for positions in choruses, orchestras, bands, and other types of music groups. They practice playing instruments or singing to continue to improve their technique and rehearse for upcoming performances. They promote themselves through websites, photo shoots, social media, and interviews.
Musicians sometimes play at clubs or bars in the hopes of accumulating enough fans to get a recording contract or agent representation. He or she may work in part of a group that works and practices together or some may advance to section leaders, becoming responsible for assigning parts to other musicians or leading rehearsals.
Singers may choose to specialize in a particular vocal style like jazz or opera, while others perform in a variety of styles. Some singers become background singers supporting a lead singer. Opera singers act out a story by singing and may perform in different languages.
Sometimes musician and singers write their own music to perform and record. They may also choose to teach music or singing, in which case, a bachelor's degree and teaching license is usually required. A musician and singer needs to have dedication, discipline, musical talent, physical stamina and also have interpersonal skills and self promoting skills.
